Urahara explains that Ichigo's Hakusui, which acts as the source of his Reiryoku, and his Saketsu, which acts as a booster for his Reiryoku, have been destroyed, effectively leaving his Soul like that of someone with no spiritual powers, which is why they must first restore the Reiryoku he has lost. However, when Ichigo inquires what he has to do, Urahara decides that they should just do it rather than explain and asks Ururu if she is ready as Ururu stands across from Ichigo and greets him while holding up protective equipment in her skirt. With Ichigo confused by this, Urahara reveals that lesson one is for him to fight her, to Ichigo's shock.
As he notes that the difference in their sizes should do the rest, Ichigo throws a punch that grazes Ururu's cheek, which begins to bleed, and curses at hitting the wrong target. Ururu stares coldly at Ichigo as her eyes dilate and steps on top of his outstretched arm before delivering a powerful kick to his head, sending Ichigo crashing into a nearby wall. However, Urahara appears and grabs Ururu's raised leg, shocking her, and declares that Ichigo is \"safe\" as Ichigo finds himself having been caught by Tessai, who absorbed most of the impact. Believing he has lost, Ichigo gets to his feet and requests another try, only for Urahara to declare he has completed lesson one.
Smiling at this, Yoruichi reveals that Ichigo has already begin preparing to enter Soul Society and asserts that Orihime and Sado should take Yoruichi's lessons if they truly want to use the powers that have awakened inside them before assuring them that they can decide whether or not they are going to Soul Society as well afterward. When Sado tells her that he is going, Orihime is surprised and finds herself unable to decide as Sado nods, but Yoruichi promises to not force her, which Orihime smiles at. Some time later, Uryū stands in front of a waterfall in a remote part of the wilderness with a box and a travel bag, only to be startled upon Orihime calling out to him.
With Ichigo surprised by this, Urahara promises him that he will have regained the powers of a Shinigami by the time he finishes lesson two and claims that the decision is up to Ichigo, who asserts that Urahara does not even have to ask him. Grinning at this, Urahara points away with his fan and announces the start of the lesson as a large hole appears in the ground underneath Ichigo and Tessai, who promptly fall into it as Ichigo begins screaming. As he looks over the side with Jinta and Ururu, Urahara wonders if Ichigo was shocked by his ruse, but is perturbed when the screaming does not stop and observes that the hole is very deep, which Ururu is proud of.
Few episodes in Bleach veer so radically between comedy and seriousness as this one. There were times I felt I was suffering mental whiplash, but it certainly is not a boring entry in the series. With Ichigo accepting the offer from Urahara to get his powers back at the end of the last episode, it was pretty obvious we would get a mini-arc with a power up at the end of it. Oh how I dreaded it when first watching the show -- for they are the most boring things in anime to me.
For his own safety, Ichigo is given his own protective gear, but has no clue on how to put it on. A quick display of superhuman power by the girl makes him realize he might just be in trouble. Urahara gives advice from the sidelines that turns out to be epic level trolling in a funny bit.
In this early arc, Ichigo gains Soul Reaper powers when he meets Rukia, and his ordinary Japanese high school life is turned upside down when he must begin battling hollows at swordpoint. He also meets Kisuke Urahara, Renji, Uryu, and other star characters. On IMDb, viewers rated some episodes higher than others, demonstrating what sort of action they prefer in this venerated series. Here are the five top-rated episodes, and the bottom-rated episodes, of the first arc.
It's a Menos Grande' more specifically, the Gillian class (the weakest type of Menos). This lumbering, bizarre giant is about to fire a cero blast, until Ichigo augments Uryu's Quincy powers with his unnamed zanpakuto. Success!
It's time for some more comic relief! Apparently. If Kon weren't silly enough for you, how about Don Kanonji, a flamboyant TV star with a scrap of spiritual power Rukia takes Ichigo to a live show to cheer him up, and they get more than they bargained for.
Rumors spread about Ichigo and Rukia's relationship when they keep dissappearing from school to respond to Hollow alerts. Overworked and frustrated, Ichigo is unaware that one of his classmates, Uryu Ishida, possesses spiritual powers of his own.
Ichigo begins training at the Urahara Shop, beginning with the shop's girl assistant, Ururu Tsumugiya to regain control of his spirit body. As the training enters stage two, Ichigo's soul is cut from his body and thrown into a pit. He must regain his Soul Reaper powers within three days, or risk becoming a hollow.
Elsewhere in Karakura Town, in an abandoned factory, Orihime Inoue and Yasutora Sado yell as they attempt to bring out their spiritual powers, prompting an embarrassed Yoruichi Shihōin to assert that they are hopeless, to their dismay. Yoruichi declares that they will never be ready to travel to Soul Society at this rate, and as Orihime protests this, Yoruichi clarifies that they will die an undignified death in Soul Society if they are not able to bring out their spiritual powers at will. Upon being instructed to remember the first time she used her powers and retrace her steps, Orihime claims that this is easier said than done because of how desperate she was at the time.
Finding a red Reiraku floating in front of him, Ichigo yanks on it and declares that this must be it as the other Reiraku disappear, only to be surprised when the box that the Reiraku is attached to opens to reveal the hilt of his Zanpakutō. As he stands behind Ichigo, Zangetsu praises his performance in finding his Shinigami powers and expresses hope that Ichigo will hear his name next time, which leads Ichigo to realize who he might be. However, when the world around them begins shaking, Zangetsu demands to know what he is waiting for and commands Ichigo to pull him out, prompting Ichigo to begin pulling on the handle of the Zanpakutō.
As Urahara finishes explaining this, however, Ichigo moves in and delivers a powerful upward slash with his Zanpakutō directly in front of Urahara, who observes his hat receiving a small cut on the brim from the force of the attack and commends Ichigo for being able to do this with a broken blade. Asserting that he has not even gotten serious yet, Ichigo proclaims that he does not need a lack of a time limit because he will finish this in five minutes, leading Urahara to draw his own Zanpakutō out of his cane as he encourages Ichigo to try and meet this goal.
Yoruichi Shihōin explains that a Shinigami must discover the name of their Zanpakutō and summon it in order to draw out its true power. When Yoruichi wonders if Ichigo Kurosaki can do this, Kisuke Urahara bets 1000 points that he cannot, only for Ichigo to angrily bet 2000 points that he can as Urahara screams in fright. 59ce067264
